Better yet, why not have two browsers?

Yes. For Mac users, Google Chrome’s quick speed and helpful features makes it an excellent web browser choice. Google’s controversial collection of personal and usage data is sure to make some pause on whether to install Chrome or not. However, if you are comfortable or indifferent to Google’s data collection, go for it; the browser's overall functionality is impressive.

Google's engineers are working steadily on a Mac OS X version of Chrome, its relatively young entry into the browser space dominated by IE on Windows, Safari on the Mac, and Firefox on both. The good news is that implementing Chrome's signature sandboxed processes is a relative snap compared to Windows, or even Linux, due to the BSD roots of Mac OS X's internals.
